The Day  In Review:  A splendid October day, even if it was cold and windy.  A reasonable crowd gathered at the Englewood Elks Lodge for the weekly luncheon.  Lima beans with ham were served atop fresh corn bread, along with a vegetable salad, all served on a lovely white paper plate.  A dessert of chocolate chip, or oatmeal cookies polished off the exceptional cuisine.  The usual fines were levied against table number one.  For some reason  the fines against them were reduced to ten cents.  A warning to all members with single daughters between the ages of twelve and fifty, Pat McKim is on the loose.  Some people don't know what time it is, others don't know month it is, (John Vierthaler).  Jim Perkins fined Sgt. at Arms Dick Mason, who was not in attendance, for not having the banner up.

 Advice from Dave Berry:
Never under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.
Never be afraid to try something new.  Remember that a lone amateur built the Ark.  A large group of professionals built the Titanic.
Men are like fine wine.  They start out as grapes, and it's up to the women to stomp the crap out of them until they turn into something acceptable with which to have dinner.
