This Week In Review

We all gathered for another day of  SERTOMA frivolity, with beautiful fall Colorado weather outside.

Prez Pollak was nailed two bits for SSS, (sandals, socks, and suit).  Other fines included Rick Campbell for bringing a Lion to lunch.  Jacobus $.25 for leaving the wine.  Enslow $.25 for teaching the SOD how to say UH!.  Benton $.25 for delivering a Maverick to Pat Diesing.  Pat Diesing $1.00 as Front Range District Governor $1.00 to make her feel welcome.  Mike Ballew governor-elect and Foundation District Representative (FRD)  $1.00 to make him feel welcome.

Pat McKim reported Bingo’s D Team performed exemplary but gave away  the Progressive of $1,076, and deposited about $5,000.

Tim Pollak has King Soopers and Entertainment books.

Nick Morrone  has scheduled December 1 at Heritage Square for a district social, which is a take-off on a USO show from WWII.

Sertoman of the Day

Bob Hogge, hit the ground in Salt Lake City and then found himself in California.  Something about Cappuccino High School and the University of Latte.’  Sounds like pretty  good work if you can get it.

Bob’s dad was transferred to Denver so they invited Bob to come along.  Bob is the vice-president of Colorado Business Bank at Broadway and Dry Creek.  His wife, Denise, is also a banker.

Bob is serving this year as the club’s director for growth and is doing a fine job.  Bob was brought into the club by his brother, John,   $5 bucks to Beez.

We’re glad to have his as a member.

Program

Pat Diesing, Front Range District Governor and Mike Ballew, governor-elect and FDR representative provided our program.  Pat emphasized that the slogan for International this year is “You Belong.”  Pat is looking for a 25% growth in the district, which can be easily accomplished if we all “pitch in” and bring a guest.  Pat has been promoting new members for the new Highlands Ranch Club at other clubs she has visited.  She reminded us that the Fall District Conference is Saturday, November 1.

Mike Ballew was there to hustle our pocket books on behalf of the International Foundation, which has a goal of $12 mission.  Arapahoe’s board has approved the Early Bird contribution which is $1,625 and means another medallion for our banners.  Several members were generous to volunteer becoming “Fellows” in the Foundation, which is a $100 contribution,  Many thanks to Tim Pollak, Bill Worth,  Phil Grimm, Tom Fry, Bob Stein, Norm Schillo, Bob Buckland, Glenn Combellick, John Pifer, Mike Ballew, and others.  You do make a difference.  THANKS!!

Guests

OUR SPECIAL GUESTS TODAY WERE BOB WOOD, HANGING OUT WITH STEVE BOLYARD, AND DICK GINNINI, A LION MEMBER WITH RICK CAMPBELL.  RON MARQUEZ OF THE RALSTON CREEK CLUB  WAS HERE TO ENCOURAGE VOTERS IN JEFFCO TO VOTE “FOR” REFERENDUM I-A, WHICH WILL ASSIST FOLKS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES.
