hit the ground running in 1957 from Rose Hospital.Spent some time on S. Lipan then to Arapahoe Road
with his family,Looking for a new challenge, Jack spent some time in
D.C., before returning to his roots.Schools include East Elementary, Euclid Junior High,
and Littleton High, finishing in 1975.Then off to the Air Force in Texas, and back to Lowry
as a weapons mechanic for TAC.Clovis, NM was the next stop before a stint with the
RAF in England and F-111 fighter bombers.Finally to Myrtle Beach, SC, where he finished his
career in 1979.Jack entered ACC in the architectural design
department and upon finishinghis degree taught there and in 1997 retired as the
head chair of the department.Since 1992, Jack has worked with dad, Don, (who
brought him into the club), and the family architectural
business. His son Jeremy is in Iraq as a staff sergeant with
the Air Force and drives 18 wheelers hauling ammo.Jack is also serving as this yearís Attendance
director.Thanks for being part of the club, Jack.
Vierthaler brought us a program about diversity with Dr.
Mary Ann Watson, a private psychologist and professor at
Watson is a graduate of Grove City College, where John went
to school, and received her Ph. D from the University of
Pittsburgh, another one of Johnís stomping grounds.
Accompanying Dr. Watson were two of her former and current
students, Rehena and Andria.Dr. Watson focuses on the field of diversity and our
program today was about accepting people, not as they
physically appear, but as they to who they really are.Dr. Watson presented two videos she has produced on
from Ghana, spoke about growing up and not being accepted in
school, due to the dark color of her skin.Andria, American born, spoke about her recent
conversion to Islam andthe waypeople
react to her since she wears a Hajib, Dr. Watson concluded
by saying that we do not know what a person is like simply
because of the color of their skin, or the clothing they
