Mark your calendars  We need a newsletter editor, HELP!!!  Greater Englewood Service Club Lunch is November 14.  We had two Prez Excellence awards.  Fry for setting up the meeting room, and Downs for doing the bulletin.

FINES:  Fry to Enslow for advertising Piferís State Farm Biz in golf promotions, failed.

Sertoman of the Day

Jack Marshall

Jack hit the ground running in 1957 from Rose Hospital.  Spent some time on S. Lipan then to Arapahoe Road with his family,  Looking for a new challenge, Jack spent some time in D.C., before returning to his roots.  Schools include East Elementary, Euclid Junior High, and Littleton High, finishing in 1975.  Then off to the Air Force in Texas, and back to Lowry as a weapons mechanic for TAC.  Clovis, NM was the next stop before a stint with the RAF in England and F-111 fighter bombers.  Finally to Myrtle Beach, SC, where he finished his career in 1979.  Jack entered ACC in the architectural design department and upon finishing  his degree taught there and in 1997 retired as the head chair of the department.  Since 1992, Jack has worked with dad, Don, (who brought him into the club), and the family architectural business. His son Jeremy is in Iraq as a staff sergeant with the Air Force and drives 18 wheelers hauling ammo.  Jack is also serving as this yearís Attendance director.  Thanks for being part of the club, Jack.

Program

John Vierthaler brought us a program about diversity with Dr. Mary Ann Watson, a private psychologist and professor at Metro State.  Dr. Watson is a graduate of Grove City College, where John went to school, and received her Ph. D from the University of Pittsburgh, another one of Johnís stomping grounds. Accompanying Dr. Watson were two of her former and current students, Rehena and Andria.  Dr. Watson focuses on the field of diversity and our program today was about accepting people, not as they physically appear, but as they to who they really are.  Dr. Watson presented two videos she has produced on diversity.  Rehena, from Ghana, spoke about growing up and not being accepted in school, due to the dark color of her skin.  Andria, American born, spoke about her recent conversion to Islam and  the way  people react to her since she wears a Hajib, Dr. Watson concluded by saying that we do not know what a person is like simply because of the color of their skin, or the clothing they wear.  Thanks, John for an interesting program.
