Song - Just Happened                 Pledge-Jim Helmick                     Invocation - Dave Miley

Today’s lunch was another winner from Las Brisas. We dined on hard and soft shell tacos, black beans, and delicious rice crispy squares for desert.  Our guests were Perry  Emry, guest of Nick Morrone (one of the many that Nick sold a raffle to), and Larry  Weir from  the Greater Park Hill Sertoma Club. Larry was here selling raffle tickets to their Vegas 2005 Raffle which will be held on May 21st. It looked as though we supported it well. Jack Marshall presented a check to Dave Miley for  $1,071. for the Arapahoe Sertoma Foundation. Parchen read off the names of some members who have volunteered to help with the silent auction at this weekend’s raffle. Last night the “A” team had 106 players and deposited $5,960. Not bad for a minimal progressive jackpot. Prez Dowdey announced that the regional meeting starts tonight with registration around 7:00 PM. Handshake Prize – Nick Morrone.  Pot of Gold – Glenn Combellickinez.

Program

Today's Program was introduced by Mabe Downey. Tom Keller talked about the Korean War. He said that it was known as the “forgotten war”. Then President Truman referred to it as a “police action”, not a true war. It lasted about 37 months, from June 25,1950 to July 27,1954. During that short time period 1,790,000. Americans served their country there, 54,246 Americans were killed, and there were 8,177 MIA. It was termed the bloodiest war in history with over 3 million people killed. Tom mentioned that Korea  has mountains over 85% of the country, making this a different kind of war because of the terrain. He also mentioned the Korean War Memorial in Washington DC and that we should be sure to see it if we have the opportunity. Great program Mabe and Tom! Thanks!

Potentially and Realistically

A young boy went up to his father and and said,”Dad, the teacher gave us an assignment to determine the difference between potentially and realistically. Can you help me?” The father thought for a moment, then answered, “ Go ask your mother if she would sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars. Then ask your sister if she would sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars, and then, ask your brother if he would sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars. Come back and tell me what you learn from that.”

So the boy went to his mother and asked,”Would you sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars?” The mother replied, “Of course I would! We could really use that money to fix up the house and send you kids to a great University!”

The boy then went to his sister and asked,”Would you sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars?” The girl replied,”Oh Wow, I love Brad Pitt. I would sleep with him in a heartbeat, are you nuts!!!!”

Then the boy went to his brother and asked “Would you sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars?” “Of course,”the brother replied.  “Do you know how much a million bucks would buy?”

The boy pondered the answers for a few days, then went back to his dad. His father asked him, “Did you find out the difference between potentially and realistically?”

The boy replied, “ Yes….Potentially, you and I are sitting on three million dollars……………but realistically…………we’re living with two sluts and a queer.”
