Song: Anonymous      Pledge: Bezjak       Invocation:  Harder

GUESTS: STEVE BOLYARD introduced Al Cole, a Sertoman from Orange County Ca.
Al was a former secretary and Governor in California.

 Announcements:

  • JOE GEERS reported that FRED DOWNS is recovering from his aneurysm surgery. Fred says hello to all and that he misses the club's meals provided by Las Brisas

  • ED BEZJAK'S E team is the first to use the new bingo hall. Ed described it as clean, big, bright and empty. His team serviced only 73 players. Even so they deposited $5,000 and the progressive is over $9,000. DICK MASON urged his A team to get there early in order to get acquainted with the new facility and new equipment. BOARD MEETING will be held on Tuesday evening October 11: 6 PM: at the Elk's club.

  • PROPOSED MEMBER: Pursuant to Section 3, ARTICLE IV (membership) of the club's constitution, notification is herewith given that CLIFF METSKER has applied for membership. Any member having any objection to his admission shall file such objection in writing with a Club Officer before the Board of Directors can accept this application.

Today's meal was held up until the plates arrived. It was noted that DEAN HISS has two plates but they are for his exclusive use. Eventually we were served chicken fried chicken, both pasta and tossed salad and chocolate.

It was noted by DON SMITH that TOM FRY got in the chow line ahead of our guest. That cost him 25 cents. In stead of BEZJAK making up some excuse to fine table 1, he fined GOVERNOR BALLEW for infringing on table 1 by sitting there. It passed. Finally DOUG HARDER made the mistake of pointing out that we had not heard an ahhh or an uhhhh from ENSLOW. HARDER was immediately fined for encouraging this form of oratory.

PROPOSED MEMBER: Pursuant to Section 3, ARTICLE IV (membership) of the club's constitution, notification is herewith given that CLIFF METSKER has applied for membership. Any member having any objection to his admission shall file such objection in writing with a Club Officer before the Board of Directors can accept this application.

Sertoman of the Day

RANDY SMITH, our resident speech and hearing specialist, is a native of Mississippi. He came to Colorado to do some graduate work. He stayed in Colorado because he met Aimee, got married, had children, and was employed by Porter Hospital for 11 years. He has been in private practice for the last 15 years. He was brought into the club in 1987 by Vic Pepka. He is responsible for starting the CAJUN COOKOUT in 1989. Currently, 70 people, including club members and families, enjoy this social event thanks to Randy.

Program

NORM SELBY where are you? We did not have a program this morning. In its place GEORGE HANNES had a chance to promote his new DVD concerning the plight of animals as a result of hurricanes Katrina and Rita. These DVDs are heart tugging pictures of animals affected by these storms. You can get both DVDs for $25. Do not make your checks payable to George. Make them payable to some animal protection agency. Thank you George for your efforts on behalf of these animals.
