news_l6.gif SERTOMAN OF THE DAY:

No show but we had the District Governor, Terry Boucher. Terry came to thank us for our contribution to the Freedom Week event and our school that won top honors. He mentioned our pick for the Service To Mankind winner, Bob Cote and George Hannes for the clubs pick for Arapahoe Sertoman of the Year. He mentioned the GEM awards process and the 10-yr and 50-yr member awards. He said we should go for the “Club Award”.

Something new is the Strategic Team for which they are looking for members to be part of like our very own Tim Pollak. (I don’t have any info on this yet). Terry is also behind our Annual Raffle, he bought a ticket or 2 and is mentioning the event when he visits other clubs. Thanks Terry.

Program:   Scott introduced Keir Royale, a magician, illusionist, motivational speaker and entertainer. Keir’s web page is Life is Magical and that is what has happened in his life. Keir learned at an early age that he could overcome a learning disability which contributed to his shyness. He used the magic to communicate with people and build up his confidence which helped him do better in school. He went on to earn many different levels of pilot licenses and today he travels all round plying his trades.

For many venues close-up magic is the ideal avenue for Keir to perform. He can entertain your guests with card and coin sleight of hand just inches away from your attendees, keeping them laughing and wondering the entire time. Perfect for small groups at a private party or when you want the entertainment to add to the excitement of the evening as your guests are encouraged to mingle during a cocktail hour.

Keir's close-up magic can also be tailored to fit a theme for a corporate event or trade-show. Utilizing a company's logo and corporate message is Keir's specialty and will allow your event to stand above the rest!

Keir Royale is an accomplished motivational speaker who uses humor and magic to demonstrate to corporate audiences that "life really is magical." He provides the tools to overcome obstacles and realize how easily we overlook life's most amazing rewards.Programs:

"Life Is Magical" - In this presentation Keir shows his audience how life truly is "Magical" if you only look for the magic in what so many of us take for granted every day.

"Making Money By Magic" - Keir demonstrates how his own success as a magician and speaker can be transferred to those in the corporate workplace by placing emphasis on taking care of the customer, networking, producing a quality product and doing the right thing.

"Rubber Chicken Soup" - Humorous and inspirational messages for the soul. Keir goes beyond story telling to highlight how we can all learn from the mistakes and triumphs of others who have consciously decided to go that extra mile for someone.

"The Magic Solution" Using his talents as a magician, Keir performs a show that carries a message behind every trick to encourage employees to look in unique directions to find answers to everyday problems.

Keir's comedy stage hypnosis show will delight audiences with some of the most hilarious and unbelievable antics you have ever seen. People are fascinated and curious about the art of hypnosis and Keir will give a short presentation about the mysteries surrounding hypnosis before the show begins.

Next a small group of volunteers will assemble on stage and the induction will begin. Soon after, suggestions will be made and many of the volunteers will be unable to do simple tasks such as remember their own name or to be able to simply stand up out of their chair when asked to do so.

Keir makes these willing participants the real "stars" of the show and utilizes his talents as a stage performer to highlight the spontaneous things that people say and do once hypnotized.       730-318-4425

"Well you see, Norm, it's like this . . . A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the heard is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Now, as we know, excessive intake of alcohol kills brain cells.. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. And that, Norm, is why you always feel smarter after a few beers."
