THIS WEEK IN REVIEW ....April 30, 2015
This weeks Reporter- Don Smith

news_l3.gif    Dave Miley   Bruce Elsey  news_l5.gif    Rev. Robinson

Guests:  Robinson introduced his LSC Natascha Hedgecock.

Fines:  Before the SOD could get started with his presentation, the fines started flying all over the place. When the dust settled, Rick Campbell’s fine for not being in his normal seat DID NOT PASS (how did that happen?) but the fine to Orian for taking to much time to explain his fine on Rick did pass and was doubled.

Announcements:  Slightly smaller crowd this week, apperantly some were out playing golf and another was rumored to be putting shingles on something……you figure it out.

No report this week on Dean Hiss.

Rick Campbell is looking for a few good drivers…..Well, only one, it seems the driver for our Soap Box car wont be able to drive and we need a driver age 7 or higher but the combined weight of the driver and car can not exceed 200lbs. This is a team effort betweeen driver and father so start looking and fast, time is running out. Light a fire under some dads and get them involved.

Pat McKim – Pat has tickets for The poker party which will be held Tuesday May 19th, 6-12pm at the Elks club. Price will be $65 again. Start rounding up prospective players. Beer and Wine – cash bar – with a light dinner included.
Some information on how to play is at:

Pat stressed the need to come up with 160 players for maximum returns given this is about our only income. Checks made out to Arapahoe Sertoma or CASH.

President Bill Benton relayed info of a number of upcoming events including this year’s induction banquette, which I think is being set for June 12th. More details and sign up sheets will be part of future meeting discussions.

Those 12 that signed up for the Pine Hurst Golf Tournament July 13th will have to wait until the Board votes on paying for a 4-some either next week or the regular scheduled meeting in 2 weeks.

Remember, if you bring in a new member and he stays 6 months, you get Free Dues - per new member for a quarter.

news_l6.gif SERTOMAN OF THE DAY:

Sertoman of the Day:    Pat McKim filled in for the missing Dick Mason but Dick says he will be the SOD next week. Pat did his best to fill in the 45 minutes he had to work with and I think half of that time we were all laughing.

Young Pat McKim was born in York, Penn in 1968. He was the last of 4 kids and in 1970, his parents moved the family to Littleton so he went to Littleton public schools. Rick Jacobus and Sam Anderson got him into the club with some arm twisting. Pat has known Rick a long time and grew up with Rick and Doug’s kids.

Pat graduated in 1991 from CU Denver with a degree as a certified financial planner and has worked at that profession for the past 20 years or so. He recently changed companies and is now located in Cherry Creek North and has a fabulous secretary. The name of his company is Prospera Wealth Management Solutions LLC.

Pat has served every position in the club except secretary and has been a bingo captain for about 10 years. He figures with his young age, he has brought the average age of the club DOWN to 65. Pat welcomed Chad to the club. Chad is now the youngest member.

He is single, has never been married and has no kids (as far as he knows, he says he doesn’t answer the door on Fathers day). His hobbies include everything that takes him where the ladies are, riding dirt bikes and mountains bikes and was in Leadville a couple years ago racing at 10,000 feet plus and passed Lance Armstrong in the race (in opposite directions, Pat finished 4 hours behind Lance). He has no military service. He grew up on the Platt River and his High School, Heritage High, is still standing. His dog El Guapo died 2 years ago but he has another one now, named The Cisco Kid…(don’t ask). Listen to Pat McKim.mp3
