Announcements:  Bob Buckland gave an update on his granddaughter Carley Baldwin who sustained a severe spinal cord injury and has mounting medical bills that insurance won’t be covering. There is a gofundme page set up if you want to donate at: You can read about what happened and what she will be going through in the future.

There is also a Benefit for Carley this Sunday at The Longshot Bar 3665 S. Federal Blvd, Sheridan from 1-4pm. It’s a Poker Tournament with a $50 buy-in. See flyer here:

Pat mentioned the Greg Reilly Memorial Golf Gathering at the ranch CC in Westminster, August 28 to benefit Adaptive Adventures.     See the flyer here. Pat thought maybe the club could chip in if we put a team together.

Joe reminded us about the upcoming Golf Tournament for the Disabled Sept 15th. See Joe.

It was announced the Dick Sorenson is in the hospital in Wyoming with pneumonia.

Bob Stein has a gall bladder issue and may need surgery tomorrow at Sky Ridge Hospital.

Pat and Joe attended the Dual District Conference last Sat. and ran into dale Hand and his wife, Gloria. Pat also mentioned that the Lodo Club may fold and wants to know if our club wants to sponsor the Field of Dreams Baseball camp. (Apparently the Rockies now longer are associated with the event).

The club roster was passed around for anyone to make updates to it so the new Sertoma Directories may reflect correct info.

Tim is selling tickets one more time for his wife’s fund raiser event at the Garlic Knott, $10 for all you can eat. It’s tonight so you better hurry.

Bill Benton is still in the shirt business. He is ordering some more tomorrow so contact him NOW. If you ordered one and didn’t get it, see Bill. If you didn’t get one and want one, see Bill.

Bill re-instated the Hand Shake Prize, this week’s winner was Don who won a multi screw driver set.

Bill also passed around the Bronco-San Fran Pool for this week’s game. See photo for the squares you bought. Last week’s winners were: Rees, Duncan, Bennett & Laudermilk.

news_l6.gif SERTOMAN OF THE DAY:

Sertoman of the Day:   Chad Kasson got to tell us his life story for only the second time. Chad was born 1974 in Columbus, Ohio. As a child the family moved to a historic area in Chicago. In 1992 the family moved to Colorado and Chad graduated from Chatfield High in 1993. In 2015 Chad took his wife by the old house and met the people that just bought it and they invited him in so he told his story of living there to them.

Chad went to enlist in the Navy but they wanted him in the nuclear program but he didn’t like that idea so he went to CU and their Navy ROTC program in nursing but he didn’t really like being around sick people after volunteering at a hospital. He then did some traveling and odd jobs but at 26 he went back to school and graduated from MSU in Denver. He met his wife there and lives in the Littleton area. Chad is a CPA, working at the same company that Mason retired from…..Mason brought him into the club. Listen to Chad Kasson.mp3

Program:  The Englewood Chamber recruitment event is Sep. 26th. Another Chamber get together before ours is in a week or so, maybe some more members should attend so we can see what goes on there so we can plan our event. As soon as I get the details I will pass it along in an e-mail. Dave Miley took the podium to discuss our plans more and to see where we are with planning.
