Guests:   Mr. Ballew made to meeting.

Quote:  There are 2 kinds of men that have been married: Those that are hen pecked and those that are liars.

Fines:   n/a

Announcements:   Ed Bezjak got conned into being the president today. I think we will have to take a look at the officer ranking and see who should have been acting president. Shouldn’t it have been the highest ranking person at the lunch, like Ken Kelley?

Bob Buckland passed out a list of items he would like to collect so he can take them to Step 13. The list of items are: toiletries (razors, shaving cream, soap, towels, wash cloths, tooth paste and brushes), underwear, t-shirts, sweaters, gloves, hats, canned food, dried food, sun glasses, socks, alarm clocks, rain gear…..or anything else you thinks a person without much could use.

There was to be a quick board meeting but there wasn’t enough members present.

Jim Rees says there are just a few essays left to read and asked for volunteers to read them. We were overwhelmed with essays this year.

Kids Christmas Party will be Dec 23rd, a Thursday, at regular lunch time. No SOD that day. Bob Schlageter has lined up a magician and no need to bring gifts this year.

Will Martinez has King Soopers coupons. The club receives 5% but only 4 people regularly use the service. The card is like a debit card so it’s easy to use.

SERTOMAN OF THE DAY:

There was no Program so our SOD filled in the time..
Peter Pauwels was born in 1947 and grew up in the Queens area of New York, a very ethnic diverse area where there was one of everything and everyone. His local river, the Jamaica Creek and the Long Island area were a couple of his big hangouts as a child, The salt marsh, river, wildlife etc. He loved it and even had his own little boat that had a range of about 10 miles. He says he suffers from “saltwater withdrawals” but then the mountains provide much of the same interest.

Peter does float trips and is offering to donate several as a fund raising event for the club. His float trips cost around $400-500 or about and can be half a day to a full day. They can take place at different rivers and in Montana, Wyoming or Colorado. The winner needs to have a valid fishing license for that state. He will provide some gear and lunch. His boat holds four people but he didn’t say if that includes him or not. He would like to get something going on raffle sales next month since there are several events taking place that we could promote the sales. There is the Sportsman’s Exposition, a Fly Fishing show and other events in town.

Peter mentions a guy in Montana without legs that has been around the world several times and is a fantastic skier. He is so low to the ground that he can do things able body people can’t do. Another person mentioned who went through Craig Hospital is an excellent hunter and has shot an elk, deer and ducks. He uses a breathing tube to sip and puff to control the weapons and his wheelchair.

Peter went on to think of ways and ideas for future fund raising events. He mentioned Facebook, OH, he should have never mentioned that. It seems he has a female friend in Montana that is smart and gorgeous and young Mr. McKim wanted to know if she would be HIS “Facebook friend”.

He thought of having a club store on the web where we can sell items and maybe raffle tickets. There is a LEGAL issue that needs to be looked into. Dick Enslow read a portion of the State rules and regulations. You needed to be a lawyer to understand it all.. JOHN, we need your help here.

A couple links about hunting and fishing if your handicapped. Peter has been building and designing fishing equipment for the handicapped and showed us some of his rods a year or so ago.
