Guests:    Jim Robinson introduced his LSC Vicky Oren….At first Jim pretended to not remember her name but he was pulling a fast one on the club.

Fines:   Randy Smith fined Bill, something about the song going all the way without a glitch for the first time in Bill’s Presidency (Don Smith did an excellent job of starting and carrying through to the end a near perfect rendition). Fined carried.

Birthdays:  n/a

Announcements:   Honorable mention goes to Jeannie and her “Oreo Lasagna desert”

The Board voted unanimously to leave the current SOD policy in effect… other words, since no one outside of the board attended to give an opinion, there will be an SOD each week. SO, get creative, recite a poem, show home videos for a couple of minutes, tell us what you think about global warming and the upcoming mega drought we will have in a few years…..It doesn’t really matter but if it’s your turn in the barrel and can’t make it that week, you will be rescheduled for the following week. It’s not that we want to hear your life story for the 15th time, we want you to participate in the club and for some, this is the only thing they do.

The Freedom Week event is next week, if you signed up and can’t show and don’t notify the powers to be, it may cost you. Rick says there are a couple spots available do to people having to change their plans. See Rick if you want to attend. THERE IS NO REGULAR THURSDAY LUNCH NEXT WEEK.

Pat Mckim – The poker party will be held April 23rd and should be bigger and better with a new venue and without a partner, that way we keep all the profits. Price will be $65 again and Pat will have tickets maybe in a couple weeks. The event will take place near I-25 & Colorado Blvd. More details later but start rounding up prospective players. Beer and Wine – cash bar – with a light appetizer type meal included.

Sertoma will host the 2015 Mountain West Regional Convention in Estes Park in September.

The Presidents Round Table is this Monday at 7p.m. (at The Holiday Inn Lakewood). If you're interested, see Bill for details.

Your secrets are all safe with your friends because they can’t remember them either.
Old is when your friend compliments you on your new alligator shoes and your barefoot.

Remember, if you bring in a new member and he stays 6 months, you get Free Dues - per new member for a quarter.

news_l6.gif SERTOMAN OF THE DAY:

Sertoman of the Day:  Sertoman of the Day The Front Range Governor of 2014/2015, Ken Kelley, was our SOD for the day. Ken Kelley was born in Denver around January 25, 1978, his Mother and G-Mother were also born in Denver. He attended Asbury and Lincoln Elementary, Baker Middle and South High School. Although he didn’t graduate from South, he did receive his GED. Seems he got a 1973 Plymouth and decided to drive around instead of going to school. He did attend Metro and Red Rocks but didn’t graduate there either. He met his wife, Katherine, who has attended The School of Mines and D.U. They have lived in Centennial and been married 11 yrs, have a 6yr. old daughter and a dog. Ken informed us that his mother’s cousin is married to Doug Harder’s brother. Not sure what that makes Ken to Doug.

Ken has been in telemarketing, mattress sales and now has his own Allstate Insurance Agency located at the Chase building on Cherokee and Hampton, Englewood, CO 80133 and phone is 303-781-1110 He claims to be an artist, poet and music instrument player. He has no military and John Pifer brought him into the club. Ken is big on getting new blood into the club so let’s see what we can do. AND the question of the day: What river was he born near? The South Platte of course. Listen to Ken Kelley.mp3

Program:  Randy Smith introduced DAVID HARROWER, an avid fitness advocate.

Along with exercise is the need to eat right. Avoid “fast foods such as rice and potatoes and eat foods that are “slow” to digest, such as fruit and vegetables. David says there are over 100,000 diet books on and most diets are designed to be very short time diets. These diets work mostly by removing water and not fat.

David recommended the book “Mastering the Zone: The Next Step in Achieving SuperHealth and Permanent Fat Loss” because it balances carbohydrates, fat and protein. Most people don’t need a lot of protein, 4oz of meat is probably all you need at a meal. The reason is that protein is not stored well in the body.
