It was mentioned at the Board Meeting that we will be looking for a Service to Mankind and a Sertoman of the Year in the not too distant future. Put your thinking cap on and come up with some ideas.

Rick Jacobus had a “sign-up sheet” to pass around for the last time for the upcoming Freedom Week event Feb. 16th, a Tuesday so there will NOT be a lunch that Thursday, the 18th. If you don’t show, you still pay unless you can get a replacement. Talk to Rick about it.
Remember, if you bring in a new member and he stays 6 months, you get Free Dues - per new member for a quarter.

SERTOMAN OF THE DAY:
Sertoman
of the Day: John Laudermilk made his first appearance as the SOD. John’s family is from Germany and a lot of milk producers used to water down the milk to make more profit and Laudermilk means “good milk”. Born in August 19, 1941, just before WW-II and a couple of his favorite TV channels are the Science and History channels and his single favorite TV show is Big Bang Theory.

John started to join the Army but then decided to go into the Air Force since he loved airplanes and machinery. On the day John left, it was storming so his dad gave him a $20 bill for cab fair to the train station to go to Baltimore. One of his dad’s pieces of advice was to “listen and keep your mouth shut”
John was in The 8th Air Force Hundredth Bomb Wing which consisted of B-17 bombers and recently he saw a TV show about the Wing called The Bloody Hundredth. (John gave some more info on this, listen to his audio). He liked the Air Force but decided to get out
John worked for AT&T for years.
John’s nick-name is Goat Head…..when playing golf, his golf partners (Doug and Ed) kept telling him to “Go Ahead” but John thought they were saying Goat Head.
John is married and has two boys. Doug and Ed brought him into the club in 2015. John claimed to “not be a joiner” but he came and really enjoyed the club so he joined.

Program: John Vierthaler introduced Bill Baldaccini, and his talk is on the History of the Korean “Conflict” Bill is a Veteran of the Korean War and goes around giving talks on it.

Bill gave a pretty detailed history leading up to the conflict and had a presentation he played.
Here is a pretty good article about the War.
