Guests:  Rev. Robinson introduced Bryn Boyer, his life skills coach, driver & friend.

Fines:  Tom Fry was fined again for thinking he needed the wooden chair he sits in..$1.00
Randy Smith fined 10 cents for his snake skin shoes. 10 Cents, what’s this?

Announcements:  Lots of Thank Yous were passed around to all that helped out with the Charity Golf Tournament that was held this past Monday at Pinehurst. Many people were involved with the planning and organizing of the event and getting the sponsors and donations for the auctions. No numbers are in yet and may not be for a couple weeks but from what we heard, it sounds like we did pretty well. Dick Enslow, who headed up our clubs delegation, says he will be around to help (head up) next year’s event.  Several members were also sponsors: Dave Miley, Pat McKim, Bruce Elsey, Bob Stein, Bill Benton got John Elway auto to sponsor and Bacco Trattoria graciously helped us out so thanks to all and hope we didn’t miss anyone. Scott was responsible for all the publicity.

Tournament day started out with the threat of rain and within the first hour of play, it did rain. After the lighting ended, game resumed and was finished just in time for the start of the evenings events. I lost track but it sounded like about 12 members played and they must have had a good time, I didn’t hear anyone complain.

Zach Harder was our photographer again and as soon as I get the photos, they will be posted.

Dick is now busy heading up the 23rd Annual Arapahoe Sertoma Fall Golf Classic to be held Aug 27th at Foothills. The one big difference this year is you have to be paid up a week before, it’s the courses request.

Phil Grimm is working on the 7th Annual Bill Parchen Golf Scramble at Raccoon Creek for Aug 6th. A sign-up sheet was passed around.

Scotts quote of the week: by Rodney Dangerfield: I found out there was only one way to look thin, hand out with fat people.

A new shipment of Past President pins arrived and handed out to Jim Rees and Jim Perkins. The others will be given when the recipients are available, they are Ken Kelley and Peter Pauwels.

Remember, if you bring in a new member and he stays 6 months, you get Free Dues - per new member for a quarter.

news_l6.gif SERTOMAN OF THE DAY:

Sertoman of the Day:   Young Pat McKim was born in York, Penn in 1968 (Phil said he had underwear that old). He was the last of 4 kids and in 1970, his parents moved the family to Littleton so he went to Littleton public schools. Rick Jacobus and Sam Anderson got him into the club with some arm twisting. Pat has known Rick a long time. Pat grew up with Rick and Doug’s kids.

Pat graduated in 1991 from CU Denver for his degree as a certified financial planner and has worked at that profession for the past 20 years or so. He recently changed companies and is now located in Cherry Creek North and has a fabulous secretary. The name of his company is Prospera Wealth Management Solutions LLC.

Pat has served every position in the club except secretary and has been a bingo captain for about 10 years. He figures with his young age, he has brought the average age of the club DOWN to 65. Pat seems a bit disappointed that Ken Kelley is now the youngest member.

He is single, has never been married and has no kids (as far as he knows, he says he doesn’t answer the door on Fathers day). His hobbies include everything that takes him where the ladies are, riding dirt bikes and mountains bikes and was in Leadville a couple years ago racing at 10,000 feet plus and passed Lance Armstrong in the race (in opposite directions, Pat finished 4 hours behind Lance). He has no military service. He grew up on the Platt River and his High School, Heritage High, is still standing. His dog’s name is El Guapo and is doing great at 16 years old. Pat says he has adjusted the dogs meds. Listen to Pat McKim.mp3

Program:  There was no program so it turned into “open mic” day with Doug headlining the event and Miley, Fry and Manley jumping in. The King did apologize, he didn’t have the program set up but was willing to give his world famous presentation on entrails but he left his notes in his car but we didn’t want him to get them. A vote was taken and the club decided Harder would be more interesting. Sorry Your Highness.
