Guests:    Alice Perkins, Jim’s wife:

FINES:  One cell phone went off and Miley gladly paid the fine.

Birthdays:  n/a

Announcements:    Announcements were very short (I don’t think I heard anything)

It was voted on to have this years Officers Induction Lunch held on June 15 – wives and guests invited. For convenience we decided to have it at the Elks club with a special meal. Cost, location and convenience for more to attend were the factors on doing it this way. One thought was that by saving a little money on this event, we could apply that money to the Christmas party. If you have any other ideas, let Mike Magee know soon. A sign-up sheet was passed around to find out how many will attend.

9 HealthFair. $35 for a bunch of tests. Go here to search for a location:

news_l6.gif SERTOMAN OF THE DAY:

Sertoman of the Day:    Today’s SOD is Ed Bezjak, who grew up in the Globeville area of Denver and after various grade schools, attended Annunciation High School. As part of the parochial league, Ed and his team mates held their own against rivals such as Regis.

Ed met Margie in 1955 and was married to her for 60 years until her death in 2015. They have 2 daughters and 3 grandkids. All are above average. One of his daughters is deaf and after collage, Ed wanted her to come back to Denver to work for which Ed thought he could get her a job but she stayed back east and has been working for Homeland Security for several years.

In 1992, Ed was inducted into the Colorado Softball Hall of Fame which indicates he had a fair amount of talent in that sport. Ed has been in Sertoma over 40 years and was brought into the club by Doug Harder. Ed was the original captain of bingo and figures he has rode that horse long enough. Listen to Ed Bezjak.mp3

Program:   No program, instead Dave Miley filled us in on the upcoming Sept. event of hosting the Englewood Chamber members and what our duties are. Everyone received an outline (a couple left them on the tables). It is planned that everyone will have something to do and a couple members have a couple of duties. If anyone has a questions as to what they should do, contact Dave. A copy of the hand-out is here:
