Guests:  n/a

Fines:   Norm Schillo had the gall to try to donate an open bottle of Baileys Irish Cream for the Golf Tournament Booze Globe. Well, since it was already open he should have passed it around but he didn’t.

Announcements:   Scott Manley has one more week as “fill-in” President before he is the real thing.

Scotts quote of the week: “A word to the wise is not necessary it’s the stupid ones that need advice”. Bill Cosby

July 4th falls on a Thursday so here will NOT be a lunch that day.

The winners to play in the golf tournament July 16th are: Doug Harder, Dave Miley, Rick Campbell & Bob Buckland. Although the club picks up a good portion of the entry cost, the players do have to pay some. And, as Rick said before the drawing, if he wins, he will have to go practice the next 3 weeks. Ha, he was picked……go practice Rick.

The next event for the Lemonade Stand is Western Welcome Week in Aug.

Bob Stein reminded us of the Annual Installation Banquet coming up a week from today (June 28). Drinks at 5pm (cash or credit card) and meal at 6pm. Linda Holloway is scheduled to appear if her health since the car accident allows.

Mike Ballew ran into Dale Hand the other day and Dale says hi to all. He is doing fine.

Doug Harder’s G-son is doing very well in his wrestling matches. Doug is also selling Heritage Football Eagle discount cards for his G-son. They are still $25…..See Doug.

Bezjak updated us on the Charity Golf Tournament Booze Globe which is auctioned off. We need more bottles. See Bezjak for further info (you can also bring money and Apple Jack with give us a good deal on the booze). Need more sponsors and silent auction items. Contact Miley for info. We have heard from a lot of past sponsors but not so on new sponsors.

Enslow informed us of the Charity Golf meeting being held immediately after lunch today at the Elks. He also said some members that are not already designated to help may be picked to help out at the tournament.

Remember, if you bring in a new member and he stays 6 months, you get Free Dues - per new member for a quarter.

news_l6.gif SERTOMAN OF THE DAY:

Sertoman of the Day:   Dick Mason gave an update on his life and a few other tid bits. Dick, a Life Member, was born 11/12/45 in Quincy, Ill. The Mississippi River was next to his hometown. Three High Schools in town and he didn't graduate from any of them, he even tried to go to the all girls school.

After being suspended from high school one too many times, he joined the Marine Corp. While in the Marines, he received his GED. Dick served almost four years and was an E-5 when discharged. He has a trip to Viet Nam and Hawaii on his military resume.

After getting out of the service, Dick married JoAnn 44 years ago, they met in study hall. He worked a little, then went back to Glendale Community College in Phoenix, where he graduated and then got a scholarship to DU. That plus the GI bill and his hard work got him through school by March of '72. Now a CPA (that does not stand for Cleaning, Pressing & Alterations), his firm was acquired and he has moved on to bigger and better things.

The Mason’s have three kids, sons Brian and Brandt, along with daughter Brandy. There is one Grandkid and he lives in California. Rick Jacobus brought Dick into the club about 22 years ago and he has served in a number of offices and is a Past President and Gold Coat recipient.
