Quote of the Day: “Don’t argue with an idiot, people watching may not be able to tell the difference”

Guests: Joyce Peluso and Zig Ziglar from Dry Creek Sertoma Club, announcing their pancake breakfast feed July 11th at Applebee’s on Co. line and University. 7:30 – 9:30a.m.

Mike Ballew’s brother Eddie Ballew and Norm Schillo’s guest, Bob Starkloff

Fines:   Low fine day but we did get some money out of table ONE for having a guest.

Bingo:  85 players with a deposit of $5500

Announcements:   Rick Campbell did a rerun on presenting Jim Rees with a plaque. Seems Rick didn’t know what we had planned for this week and jumped the gun last week.

There is a District Leadership Conference this Saturday. All new officers are requested to attend. Contact Jim or John V. for info.

Paul Ramadan, a member from the S.W. club, is coming over to Arapahoe. This is to officially publish his name for a third time.

Bob Hogge (Rick Campbell) has King Soopers coupons..

The 3rd Annual Bill Parchen Memorial Classic golf tournament was a big success (if you don’t count a couple teams getting a bit damp from a rain storm). There were 5 groups and the Manley, Stein, Thompson & Miley group won first place with an amazing 7 under. Team Magee was second.

Littleton Sertoma 17th Annual golf tournament at the Black Bear course in Parker is June 29th, this coming Monday.

No SOD due to the presentation for the outgoing president, Jim Rees.

Program:   George Hannes put together a great 18 minute DVD slideshow presentation for outgoing president, Jim Rees. There were many photos of past and present members, some of whom are no longer with us. After the slideshow, Doug Harder does what he does best, roasting people. He said he warned some of the mixed group but he cleaned it up a little and was all in good fun. One very startling mention was that Jim does some kind of dance in his bedroom, resembling an airplane flying around. You will have to ask him the details, I’m not going there. Apparently a few other members do the same dance; they got up in unison to demonstrate.

Jim’s wife snuck in on him and was introduced to the club. Jim had a tough year trying to keep us all in line but he did a great job and we gave him a standing ovation. Now if we can just get the incoming president, John Vierthaler, off his horse or tractor long enough to lead the club for another year of fund raising and fellowship. THANKS JIM.

It was mentioned that if anyone wanted a copy of the slideshow disc, they can be purchased from George and the monies go to the Foundation. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I am now saving all the photos that are on the Newsletter in their full size so if the next Scrapbook/DVD designer/committee wants the photos, they can just click on them and save to their own computers or contact me (Don) and I can get a digital copy to you, I don’t have a color printer.
