Guests:  Tom Fry introduced his brother in law, Stew Harris from Fla. Also, the one and only, Rev. Robinson, returned from his trip to the East coast and was in good hands from Bryn Boyer.

Fines:   Tom Fry was fined for losing a bet and paying up by bringing his brother in law to a free lunch. Table One was also fined for having a guest. (they just can’t win).

Announcements:   After today, Scott Manley is no longer the “fill-in” President, he is the REAL President.

Scotts quote of the week: (one of several) “Last night my wife met me at the front door, she was wearing a sexy negligee. Only trouble was, she was coming home”. Rodney Dangerfield

July 4th falls on a Thursday so there will NOT be a lunch that day.

Just what you want to hear this time of year, Mike Magee says they are hiring De-Icers at DIA….

Bob Stein reminded us of The Annual Installation Banquet tonight. Bob was thanked for not letting “The King” do the announcement.

Phil Grimm is working on the 7th Annual Bill Parchen Golf Scramble at Raccoon Creek and is asking for a date that works for everyone, sometime in Aug. I believe he said. A sign-up sheet was passed around.

Doug Harder is selling Heritage Football Eagle discount cards for his G-son. They are still $25…..See Doug.

Bezjak updated us on the Charity Golf Tournament Booze Globe which will be auctioned off. He received 22 bottles / or cash and today was the last day to donate.

Enslow is selling raffle tickets for the hard liquor and wine drawing. $5-for one, $10-for three and $20 for ten tickets. Still have room for players and can use more auction items and sponsors.

Scott mentioned we received a couple thank-you letters for our donations. One was from Aspen Camp and the other from Interfaith Community Services.

Scott also mentioned Bob Buckland and his wife had birthdays this week. A rendition of Happy Birthday was sung.

Remember, if you bring in a new member and he stays 6 months, you get Free Dues - per new member for a quarter.

news_l6.gif SERTOMAN OF THE DAY:

Sertoman of the Day:   SOD was a NO-SHOW, all scheduled SOD’s will be pushed back one week.

Program:  Ken Kelley introduced Nancy Hortman and Sgt Howard Norman of Denver A.C.T.S. Ken met Nancy a few years back and gave a pretty detailed introduction of the background of Denver A.C.T.S.

A.C.T.S. is "A Community Taking a Stand" . . . against hunger, poverty and homelessness!

ACTS takes a stand against hunger... by providing emergency food to over 8,000 needy people each month bringing relief to those who have to choose between paying their rent or feeding their children, to those who struggle to buy their prescription drugs or keep their lights on, and to those may have lost their job or suffered a severe medical catastrophe crippling their household.

ACTS takes a stand against poverty... by providing emergency resources to those in need. Multitudes are suffering due to the economic downturn, and everyday we see a host of poverty-related needs running rampant. By offering a hand-up during crisis situations we believe this makes a happier and more productive community.

ACTS takes a stand against homelessness... by providing emergency shelter to homeless men. What makes our shelter unique is that our "guests" are the success story behind our ability to distribute over 100,000 lbs. of food each month, and in feeding the multitudes - they are our success story!

They are now located at 3405 Downey St., Denver, in the 5 Points area.
