Announcements    Doug brought us up to date on Rev. Robinson. He is at the Dr.’s now and they are trying to determine if they want to do surgery on his shoulder now or let it heal on it’s own. He broke his colar bone and had some bleeding on the brain at the time but that is pretty much okay.

It was such a slow day for news today that Doug had to tell us about the trip he had to King Soopers with his granddaughter and they saw a picture of Ken Kelley.

The club’s Facebook page: We will be adding some old and new photos shortly.

Is anyone interested in going to the National Convention in K.C., KS (or is it MO?). I don’t know how many the club will pay expenses for but let Scott know if your interested. A couple past presidents said they enjoyed their trips when they went.

Scott mentioned we received a Thank You note from Step 13 and Alzheimers Assn.

Denver area Sertoma clubs are hosting the Celebrate Sound Don’t Walk in Silence walk May 17th and Scott has proposed that Arapahoe club help sponsore the event. So far, we are the top donars. You can click on Arapahoe Sertoma on the right hand edge to see the Team Page but if you want to donate, give the money to Scott. It seems the web page is very difficult to use to make a donation. This needs to be corrected. Ken and Tim are attending their meeting tonight so this might be addressed. Several members have made donations and we thank them. (who are they.....go to the web page and find out).

Remember, if you bring in a new member and he stays 6 months, you get Free Dues - per new member for a quarter.

news_l6.gif SERTOMAN OF THE DAY:

Sertoman of the Day:   The future Front Range Governor of 2014, Ken Kelley, was our SOD for the day. Ken Kelley was born in Denver around January 25, 1978, his Mother and G-Mother were also born in Denver. He attended Asbury and Lincoln Elementary, Baker Middle and South High School. Although he didn’t graduate from South, he did receive his GED. Seems he got a 1973 Plymouth and decided to drive around instead of going to school. He did attend Metro and Red Rocks but didn’t graduate there either. He met his wife, Katherine, who has attended The School of Mines and D.U. They have lived in Centennial and been married 10-1/2 yrs, have a 5yr. old daughter and a dog. Ken informed us that his mother’s cousin is married to Doug Harder’s brother. Not sure what that makes Ken to Doug.

Ken has been in telemarketing, mattress sales and now has his own Allstate Insurance Agency located at the Chase building on Cherokee and Hampton, Englewood, CO 80133 and phone is 303-781-1110 He claims to be an artist, poet and music instrument player. He has no military and John Pifer brought him into the club. Ken is big on getting new blood into the club so let’s see what we can do. AND the question of the day: What river was he born near? The South Platte of course. Listen to KenKelley.mp3

Program:  Randy Smith introduced our program for the day, Ken Kelley. Ken handed out a sheet of paper which contained “Review of Key Terms” on it. It also asked a couple questions: 1. Do you have coverage for sewer back-up?; 2. What is yourliability limit at?; 3. Do your assets determine that you should have an Umbrella Policy?. Other notes include...Are you a member of an HOA?...Loss Assesment coverage is a must; Familiar with Building Codes coverage?...This pays to bring your home up to code in the event of a loss; Are your firearms, jewelry, and collectibles covered?....

Any and all questions can be asked (not sure what the answer will be) so give Ken a try with your insurance needs......(this was added without any monitary considereations).     303 781-1110     Listen to Ken Kelley.mp3
