Announcements:    It was voted on to have this years Officers Induction Lunch held on June 15 – wives and guests invited. For convenience we decided to have it at the Elks club with a special meal. Cost, location and convenience for more to attend were the factors on doing it this way. One thought was that by saving a little money on this event, we could apply that money to the Christmas party. If you have any other ideas, let Mike Magee know soon. A sign-up sheet was passed around to find out how many will attend.

If interested in the up-coming Chamber Golf outing in June, see Dave Miley.

9 HealthFair. $35 for a bunch of tests. Go here to search for a location:

Scott Manley said the A-1 Scuba raffle was a sell-out…..several times. They ran out of tickets and had to have more printed. They took in around $15,000.

news_l6.gif SERTOMAN OF THE DAY:

Sertoman of the Day:    Rick Campbell was born in Geneva, Illinois in 1953. Grew up in Illinois, went to High School at Glenbard West at Hilltop, it is still standing. Served in the military for 2 weeks, he was number 5 in the draft. Two weeks prior to reporting for basic, Nixon called off the draft but he did get inducted into the Army. Rick went on to College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Il. Started as an electrical engineer, but did not like the number crunching as much as fixing cars.

Rick went to college for a year. He came out to Colorado on a ski vacation and enjoyed walking around in a tee shirt in the middle of winter (1973) and decided to come out and stay permanently. He had met Renee when he was in High School, they started dating during college and she came along when Rick moved west in 1974. They have been happily since 1974 and they have 3 girls. The eldest of his daughters is a teacher at Ft. Logan Elementary. The middle child is a nurse at Porter. The youngest is a homemaker due to the recently arrival of twins. Rick and Renee now have 7 grand kids. One of the grand kids was born on 5-5-05.

Rick runs an auto collision repair service (Auto Body & Frame Clinic of Colorado) which he opened in 1979 and it’s close to the Elks' club (which is convenient because of the poor driving abilities of the club). His dad was in the auto body parts business. He gave Rick a beat up car and told him by the time you get it all fixed up, you will be old enough to drive it. Dr. Tim brought Rick into the club and he has held several chairs including President & Chairman of the Board. Listen to Rick Campbell.mp3

Program:   Randy Smith introduced Cassy Huidobro, Author and Speaker. Cassy had a few moments in her past when she said things she wish she hadn’t and discovered that if you “think before you speak”, you’re response may be very different then if you respond quickly. This has help her in communicating with others that may have a different view of things and she thinks it can help you in the same situation. Listen to Cassy Huidobro.mp3 (I missed a very small portion of the talk).
