news_l6.gif SERTOMAN OF THE DAY:

Sertoman of the Day:   The future Front Range Governor of 2014, Ken Kelley, was our SOD for the day. Ken Kelley was born in Denver around January 25, 1978, his Mother and G-Mother were also born in Denver. He attended Asbury and Lincoln Elementary, Baker Middle and South High School. Although he didn’t graduate from South, he did receive his GED. Seems he got a 1973 Plymouth and decided to drive around instead of going to school. He did attend Metro and Red Rocks but didn’t graduate there either. He met his wife, Katherine, who has attended The School of Mines and D.U. They have lived in Centennial for about 11 yrs, married 8 yrs, have a 3-1/2yr. old daughter and a dog. Ken informed us that his mother’s cousin is married to Doug Harder’s brother. Not sure what that makes Ken to Doug.

Ken has been in telemarketing, mattress sales and now has his own Allstate Insurance Agency located at the Chase building on Cherokee and Hampton, Englewood, CO 80133 and phone is 303-781-1110 He claims to be an artist, poet and music instrument player. He has no military and John Pifer brought him into the club. Ken is big on getting new blood into the club so let’s see what we can do. AND the question of the day: What river was he born near? The South Platte of course.

Ken also gave us some details to his weight loss program for which he has lost around 100 lbs. I believe I have the correct web link here: Listen to KenKelley.mp3

Program:  Steve Smith, Sports Writer for the Denver post, was the scheduled speaker but didn’t make it so Doug Harder filled in with his wit and charm and once in a while, some news to benefit us all.

Doug is the “Un Official Chairman of the Election Committee, along with Dave Miley and he described some of the difficulties they have trying to fill certain offices, mainly the office of President. Since no one that has not been a past President will step up, they are trying to persuade a previous president to fill the office and it appears they may have been successful. At this time, it looks like Mike Magee will concider the position for next year and I am sure all members are breathing a bit easier now knowing they won’t be ramroded into the position. Scott Manley is the upcoming President with Peter as the Chairman of the Board, Secretary is Tim Pollak, Treasurer is Jim Rees, Sgt. @ Arms Ken Kelley, Ways n Means Dave Miley, Freedom Week Rick Jacobus, Bingo Golf Tourny Dick Enslow, Social Orian Hunter, Programs Randy Smith, Attendance/Publicity Don Smith. It was suggested that Bill Benton be put into the VP roll by acclimation and blame it on Bezjak (Bill wasn’t in town, that will teach him). Bruce Elsey was also mentioned but we have trouble reaching him on the phone……MEOW……
If anyone has any ideas or comments, contact Doug or Dave. Listen to Doug Harder.mp3
