Guests:   Cindy Markham from S.Glen Sertoma came to pitch their fund raiser which is a Pie Card for Village Inn. I think she sold out.

Jim Robinson introduced his LSC Vicky. I don’t know if he is concidered a “guest” but Mike Ballew showed up and I think I over heard him say he might be coming a little more often.

Fines:   Dick Mason fined the person that started the song….it was him…that was good for a laugh. Jack Thompson and Tom Fry were fined for doing something to their salad involving cucumbers. Randy Smith for not having a “pin” on his jacket and last but not least, Mike Ballew was fined for poor training of Tim. (you just can’t win in this club, you have to hear it all.mp3)

Birthdays:  Orian Hunter and Phil Grimm

8 or 9 members attended the funeral for Gus.

Sertoma International sent us back $2058 and we are glad to have it to put into the Sponsorship fund.

news_l6.gif SERTOMAN OF THE DAY:

Sertoman of the Day:   Dick Enslow was born Jan 23, 1942 in Aurora, Ill., near the Fox River. He went to school in the Aurora area and received a BS in Industrial Engineering. He went to work for Allis Chalmers. He came to Denver in 1973 for a job offer and was amazed at the weather so he moved here. He went to work for Materials Handling, then went into the reverse mortgage business several years ago but after being told they were going to train him at his expense, he retired.

Dick has been married to Carol for 48 years. She did high school teaching, and then computer sales then went to work for a travel company that got bought out by Delta. They had great benefits. She last did student information systems for the Jeffco school district until she retired in April a couple years ago.

Dick has two kids. His daughter, Kedra, who has given Dick his first grandchild. Son Brad is a couple years younger then his sister and was married recently plays two man sand volleyball “professionally” (about $100 a year).

Dick was drafted when he was 21 but since he had dislocated his shoulder in high school several times he was rejected at the physical, they never contacted him.

Dick has a gift from a college fraternity brother in a hunting accident. A Pheasant flew up between the 2 of them and Dick got most of the shot which is still there. The shot is lead so it doesn't get picked up by the airport x-ray machines but his 2 knee replacements do.

Dick is going to be our Sponsorship/Finance Chairman again for the new fiscal year. He was brought into the club by the honorable Bill Parchen and was President with a gold coat and gone through most chairs. Dick is one of the more active members, always stepping up to work behind the scene on many fund raising evernts, such as the golf tournaments and in the past, Bingo. Listen to Dick Enslow.mp3
