Dick Laskey needs to leave the lights on at home so he doesn’t trip and hurt himself again.

A couple of the ladies from the Elk’s club pitched a fund raiser. The Board voted to donate $200.

Lisa from International Hearing Dogs gave a short presentation on what the organization does and some of their upcoming events. One is the Hearing Dog’s Spook-tacular “Dog-o-Ween and Tailgate!” Oct. 30th, 11am to 2pm at Highlands Ranch Petco. Free but donations appreciated. Also, Nov. 13th at Macy’s Cherry Creek & Park Meadows. Tickets $10 plus 10-20% discount off almost everything at Macy’s. or call 303 287-3277. You can also donate at IHDI Online at:

Don Smith announced he may or may not be here next week so if he isn’t would someone step up and take notes. If you have a tape recorder, it would be nice to record our program.

Englewood Chamber of Commerce lunch went well with about 20 of our members in attendance. Dave Miley did an excellent job introducing Doc. Howie Kelsall. What did the good Doc. Have to have to say about it all: “Thanks”.

Will Martinez has King Soopers coupons. The club receives 5% but only 4 people regularly use the service. The card is like a debit card so it’s easy to use.

Program:  Rick Jacobus introduced Robert Schenkein, VP of Marketing with Colo. Public Radio. Bob has 30+ years of marketing, advertising and public relations experience. He founded the Schenkein public relations firm, which became one of the largest and most respected marketing/public relations firms in this region of the country. Schenkein was honored with virtually every major national industry award for creativity and strategic excellence. His background includes representing organizations in nearly every business category, including all forms of media. Bob ha also provided counsel to dozens of non-profit organizations during his career and served on several Colorado non-profit boards where he has assumed leadership roles.

Bob a former Rotarian and served on the Denver Rotary Foundation Board. He is a past president of the Colorado Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and served a chairman of the Denver Advertising Federation. He previously served as a member of the Colorado Public Radio board of directors.
