Dick Mason (Life Member), Born 11/12/34 (per the roster) in Quincy, Ill. The Mississippi river was next to his hometown. 3 High Schools in town and he didn't graduate from any of them.

Dick was suspended and joined the Marine Corp. He got his GED, served almost four years, was an E-5 when discharged. Put a trip to Viet Nam on his military resume.

After getting out of the service, Dick married JoAnn, went to work and back to Glendale Community College in Phoenix, where he graduated and then got a scholarship to DU. That plus the GI bill and his hard work got him thru school by March of '72. Now a CPA his firm is being acquired and moving on to bigger and better things.

The Mason’s have three kids and one Grandkid. Sons Brian and Brandt, along with daughter Brandy. Rick Jacobus brought him into the club where he has served in a number of offices and is a Past President. His 5'er went to Ed Bezjak.

Program:  Introduced by John Vierthaler, John Pape, of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. He is an Epidemiologist. He also lives about 3 blocks from the Bear Valley Car Wash.

John is a Graduate of South High School and CSU (Tractor Tech). He brought a program on the communicable diseases brought to us through contact with animals. The term for this is "Zoonoses". There are 1407 communicable diseases and 816 of them can come from animals. Animals spread West Nile . FYI in Colorado there were 345 cases of this in 2006 and 7 of these were fatal. July and August are the worst months for getting the disease. Mosquitoes usually start feeding one hour before sunset and continue until approximately midnight . Beware when you’re outside during these hours. Use a repellant. 80% of the people who get the virus don't even know they have it. A vaccine is years away.

POT O GOLD : Joe Geers lost because he was absent but Bo Hogge was there and skated out the door with the CAR WASH money at 1:32PM when the meeting was over. (is this free advertising on the part of the reporter?)
