Birthdays:   n/a

Announcements:   Fill in President, Bob Stein, did a terrific job standing in for Bob Buckland. He was very Presidential, even wearing a Sertoma shirt. Good job Bob.

Bob mentioned the Annual Celebrate Sound Walk this weekend, the 17th. You can get more details at Sertoma Calendar--Updated September 8, 2016.doc That link has many other events coming up soon.

The new Directories arrived today, both complete and inserts.

Next week the sign-up sheet should go around again for the upcoming Service Luncheon on Oct. 27th (there will not be a regular lunch at the Elks club that day). It is at the Meridian, same place it has been in the past and it runs from 11:30a.m. to 1p.m. Sign up if you want to go because the club has to pay for your lunch.

A meeting was held last week after the Board Meeting to discuss a Poker Tournament. Bill Benton says it will happen sometime in late January.

Last week’s Bronco pool winners: It was not announced who won but I heard Mason may have. . No image again this.

At the Board Meeting today, we asked for ideas for this year’s Christmas Party. Do we want an adult only party, a party with adults & kids? How about holding it at the Elks club? Do we want a $10 gift exchange???? What about a band or DJ, what type of music (one idea was 40’s music). We need ideas of what YOU want so write down some ideas and give them to the President.

We want to know how many in the club would be interested in taking the Royal Gorge Train or the George Town Loop for a ride as a club function. Think about it as more discussion to follow. NOTHING ELSE HAS BEEN SAID ABOUT THIS.

Remember, if you bring in a new member and he stays 6 months, you get Free Dues - per new member for a quarter. A couple members just qualified for this perk.

Program:  Randy Smith introduced Freddie Gaudet who came today to give an opposing view of the upcoming issue – ColoradoCare, Amendment 69, the Colorado Health Care issue.

Coloradans for Coloradans is a statewide, bipartisan organization formed to work for the defeat of Amendment 69 – the costly, untested and risky government run health care plan that would double the size of state government. We come from across the state, from different backgrounds and different political perspectives. Some of us believe in a government run system for our nation while others are committed to improving our existing market-based system. We are united in our deep belief that Amendment 69 is wrong for Colorado.

Under Amendment 69, ALL Coloradans will lose their current benefit plan, to be replaced by benefits yet to be determined, to be serviced by an entity yet to be identified, to include providers yet to be named.        Listen to Freddie Gaudet.mp3

Here is a link with many reasons why to oppose 69:
