Guests:  Alice Perkins, Jim’s wife: Simpson St Fort was voted in as a new member last week it the Board Meeting and will be inducted in a week or two.

FINES:  Jim Perkins for subjecting his wife Alice to our group on their 32nd Anniversary. Don Smith for sticking his foot in his mouth and trying to fine the SOD.

Foundation News:  The Foundation still has a cemetery plot or two for sale. They are located at Chapel Hill Cemetery. If interested, contact one of the Foundation members or me ( ) and I will forward your contact to one of them.

Announcements:   Jim Helmick showed up today to tender his resignation from the club. Jim is moving back to Ohio so it looks like this will be the last time we will see him. He has been a faithful member for about 19 years and will be missed.

Bob’s granddaughter, Carley Baldwin, is out of Craig full time but still goes back for treatments which saves a ton of money. There is a gofundme page set up if you want to donate at: You can read about what happened and what she will be going through in the future. There is also a Carley Oktoberfest on Saturday, September 30 at Chinook Tavern. View the details here: page 1   page 2 (has the history of what happened).

The latest issue of the Englewood Chamber Newsletter had a half page story about Arapahoe Sertoma. Read it here: Everyone that is going to the event please show up a little early to be sure everything is set up. Dress is casual but if you have a Sertoma shirt, wear it. THERE WILL BE A LUNCH ON THRUSDAY, THE 28TH.

Clarke has been trying to round up Door Prizes for the up-coming Chamber event and so far isn’t doing to well. Either the businesses he has contacted doesn’t want to donate anything or they say that the manager isn’t in and check back later. Clarke will continue to try but did have a few items he has accumulated that he would donate. You can still help by soliciting for some and if the business needs a receipt, give them a copy of this: Receipt.jpg

Orian announced that our caterer, The Copper Pot on Broadway, will cater the Chamber event. He and Buckland sampled the food that is planned on and they said it was all great. It’s not a “sit down” meal, more of a snack type thing.

Scott is getting Craig to donate some accessories for cell phones. These are little things that attach to the back and allow you to hold on to the device or set the device on-end on a flat surface.

Gary ordered 50 patches and they are $3 each. Nice looking patches.

Tim has the new Directories & Fillers for those that needed them.

Bill also passed around the Bronco-Buffalo Pool for this week’s game. See photo for the squares you bought. Last week’s winners were: Athey, Bezjak, Elsey & Jacobus.

The question of where the monies go from the Pool (and King Soopers) is: They help keep our dues lower.

news_l6.gif SERTOMAN OF THE DAY:

Sertoman of the Day:   Jack Marshall was a no show. Young Pat McKim was born in York, PA in 1968. He was the last of 4 kids and in 1970; his parents moved the family to Littleton so he went to Littleton public schools. Rick Jacobus and Sam Anderson got him into the club with some arm twisting. Pat has known Rick a long time and grew up with Rick and Doug’s kids.

Pat graduated in 1991 from CU Denver with a degree as a certified financial planner and has worked at that profession for the past 20 years or so. He recently changed companies and is now located in Cherry Creek North and has a fabulous secretary. The name of his company is Prospera Wealth Management Solutions LLC.

Pat has served every position in the club except secretary and has been a bingo captain for about 10 years. He figures with his young age, he has brought the average age of the club DOWN to 65. Pat welcomed Chad to the club. Chad is now the youngest member.

He is single, has never been married and has no kids (as far as he knows, he says he doesn’t answer the door on Father’s day). His hobbies include everything that takes him where the ladies are, riding dirt bikes and mountains bikes and was in Leadville a couple years ago racing at 10,000 feet plus and passed Lance Armstrong in the race (in opposite directions, Pat finished 4 hours behind Lance). He has no military service. He grew up on the Platte River and his High School, Heritage High, is still standing. His dog El Guapo died 3 years ago but he has another one now, named The Cisco Kid…(don’t ask). Listen to Pat McKim.mp3

Program:   John Vierthaler introduced Mark Burnett from American Dream Mortgage. “My experience and drive will help get your mortgage done quickly and accurately. I have been a mortgage advisor for over 12 years and co-founded American Dream Mortgage in 2004 (with David Yanett).

It is my passion for helping clients reach their mortgage dreams, that continually drives me to new heights in my career. There are many things to consider when purchasing or refinancing a home; let me help you make sense of it all!

My goal is to help you survive the mortgage process.

I live locally in Littleton with my wife Julie and our three children, Samuel, Jacob and Crystal. In my free time, I am very involved with coaching little league and youth sports.”          Listen to Mark Burnett.mp3
